The SNF Institute for Global Infectious Disease Research grew out of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s (SNF) long and deep commitment to The Rockefeller University. Based on this commitment and the recognition of the University’s contribution to COVID-19 research and public outreach during the pandemic, in early 2023 SNF committed $75 million to The Rockefeller University as part of the Foundation’s Global Health Initiative (GHI). The purpose of this donation is to build upon Rockefeller’s storied history of expertise in the field of infectious disease research for the benefit of humankind.
